What is really happening in the studio right now

Over the past few days, I have realised something important.

I cannot be everywhere.

I cannot keep up with social media, videos and reels while also creating paintings in the way I really want to.
It is impossible to give everything your full attention at once.

And I want to make good work.

So I have decided to simplify things.

I now spend more time in the studio than on social media.
And that makes much more sense to me.

I have three paintings in progress here.
I began each at a different time, in a different mood… and, honestly, it was beginning to bother me that they were still unfinished.

So the first step is to
finish them.

I want to bring them to the point where they are ready to go out into the world.

Then comes what I am really looking forward to.

A new series.

One motif has been returning to me for some time:
circles.

They appear in my sketches, my thoughts and my paintings.
Rather than overlook them, I have decided to give them space.

This will not be a single painting.
Nor will it simply repeat the same motif.

Each painting will be different.
But something will connect them.

Circles will be an element that is not merely visual, but also carries meaning.
Something in which everyone can find their own meaning.

I do not want to describe it in unnecessarily complicated words.

What matters to me is that it has energy.
That it is not empty.

I am at the beginning now.
And this time, I really want to enjoy the process. Without pressure. Without feeling that I have to rush to post something.

If you are curious about what I am creating, keep an eye on my website.

I will gradually add finished paintings there, starting with those I am completing now… followed by the new series.

And we will see where it takes us. K.
