Transformation

I did not begin Transformation with a clear vision. In fact, it was a painting that had gone completely wrong. Something about it did not feel right – the composition, the colours, the energy. So I put it aside. But I did not throw it away. After a while, I returned to it, picked it up, painted over it and started again. This time without a plan, guided only by what I felt.

The process was deeply symbolic. I realised that this is exactly how life works too – something familiar stops making sense, you struggle with it for a while, unsure where to turn, but eventually you take it into your own hands and reshape it. Perhaps it is not neat, perhaps it is not perfect. But it is yours.

I chose the colours intuitively – turquoise as a current of inner strength and calm, copper as a sense of rootedness and grounding, and white as a reminder that even what seemed like a mistake can be part of the journey. The hatching and textures are like layers of emotion that are not visible at first glance, yet shape who you are.

“Sometimes you have to let the old disappear completely so that you can become who you have been all along.”
