From the encounter with art.
In October this year, 2024, I had the honour of taking part in the prestigious Open Art in Prague, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The exhibition attracted artists from across the world, and I had a wonderful opportunity to meet many of them in person. Sharing experiences and techniques with such a diverse group of artists was immensely enriching. The exhibition’s inspiring atmosphere delighted me and gave me a fresh perspective on art.
One of the highlights of taking part in Open Art was introducing my new designer wallet. This was a first for me, which makes me all the more delighted that it received such a positive response. I am now looking forward to seeing the wallet go on sale and find its owners.
The whole event was not only professionally rewarding, but also a wonderful opportunity to make new friends within the artistic community. Sharing a passion for art with like-minded people is always immensely inspiring. I already know that next year I will take part in this event again, to experience another wave of creativity and meet wonderful people.

More than 250 talented artists will present their work on walls stretching over 3/4 of a kilometre, across an area exceeding 2600 m².
Meet the artists in person, admire their paintings, sculptures and photographs, and take a piece of art home with you. Do not miss this year’s largest exhibition, “Memories” by the celebrated photographer Robert Vano, and unique celebrity portraits from Magnum Photos.

“Each painting is like a window into the world as I see it, where colours and shapes tell my story without boundaries”
My name is Kristýna Smetanová, I am 33 years old and I live in the small village of Tetín in the Central Bohemian Region. As a nurse, I found plenty of inspiration in everyday life. I began teaching myself to paint and draw in 2018. I began painting at home.
I now have my own studio, where I paint and welcome clients who take my works home with them. I started by drawing in pencil from photographs, later turning to abstract painting in acrylics. Both remain part of my practice today. For me, they are a way to relax and escape from reality. At first, I thought it would only be a hobby. But it grew into a passion and something I wanted to share with others. Colours and canvas became a home for my heart, even though I have never formally studied painting or drawing. Art has given me the gift of expressing myself and discovering my own world. It is not just a hobby, but a way of expressing and discovering my own vision.
I am a mother of two young children, who are an endless source of inspiration for me. Their spontaneity, creativity and joy in life continually encourage me to look for beauty in everyday things.
Every painting I create is original. I have never yet created two works that are identical or even similar. I never know in advance what will emerge on the canvas. That is why the result is always a surprise and a joy, even for me.
For me, each new day is like a blank canvas, ready for new stories and colourful adventures that bring me endless inspiration.
