You may have noticed that I’ve been thinking differently lately.
Less adapting to others. More intuition. More of what I truly feel.
And that brings one thing with it…
👉 I need space. Actual space. For new paintings.
My studio can only hold so much.
And my head is full of new things I want to put on canvas.
What does that mean for you?
I’ve decided to do something I don’t usually do:
👉 I’m launching painting auctions on my Instagram – @smetanova.art
Yes.
Paintings that would normally be offered at full price will be going to auction.
Because:
- I want my paintings to find homes with people
- I want to make room for new work
- and honestly… I want someone to take home a piece of my work at a price that feels right for them 🤎
How will it work?
I’ll be sharing the paintings one by one on my Instagram.
- I’ll write a short story about each one
- I’ll set a starting price
- and you can bid directly in the comments
👉 It’s simple and lively, without unnecessary rules.
Why am I doing this?
Not because I want to “get rid of” these paintings.
Quite the opposite.
Each has its own moment, its own story, its own energy.
But I feel it’s time to let them go.
Because:
👉 If a painting stays hanging in my studio, its story ends.
If it goes home with you, it begins again.
It may not be for everyone
And that’s all right.
But perhaps there’s one painting there
that will find you.
The kind that makes you stop and think:
👉 “Somehow, this one feels like mine…”
Follow the auctions here.
👉 Instagram: @smetanova.art
And if you want to be there from the start,
turn on notifications. Some paintings will go quickly.
I’m making room.
And perhaps that will be the start of something new for someone else. 🤎
